sCOOL2walk
Promoting Walkability for Children and Youth
Main objective of the phase:
The workshops phase aims at identifiying the routes that the children take to go to school. There will be a workshop with the parents and the children in each pilot city. It will also help detect which functionalities should be added to the App.
Timeline:
The workshops will take place during April and May of 2023. There will be two parts in each workshop: a walk-in session with the parents and other stakeholders and a session with the children.
The workshops consist of two main sessions, a walk-in session with the parents (which can be face to face and online) and a session with the children.
Walk-in session with parents (and/or other stakeholders)
This workshop aims to gather information about the parents' decision making process regarding their trips to school with their children and determine what routes should be added into the sCOOL2walk App. Some elements that will be discussed are:
- How they feel towards allowing other adults walk their child and who these adults could be
- Preferences on pick-up points
- Decisions regarding the route they take to go to school
- Extracurricular activities of their child
Workshops with children
During this session the information gathered will relate more to attractive functionalities of the app that would appeal to the children.
