Introduction to women's mobility patterns around the world.

"In the 1970s, some transportation planners began to recognize the mobility needs of population subgroups. Since then, several researchers, from various fields, have shown the differences in mobility patterns between women and men. By analyzing academic articles and project results, we will look at the situation in different countries around the world and the factors affecting mobility behavior. Finally, we will answer the question of whether there are differences in mobility patterns between women and men even in the most egalitarian societies.

These facts will be supported by figures and some conclusions that show the reality of these differences.

The attendees will know the principal characteristics of women mobility patterns around the world. The attendees will learn to recognize the principal differences of mobility between men and women
