Changes at "When Smart mobility ”means“ smart infrastructures"
Description (English)

-
Continental’s aim is constantly innovating solutions that help make roadways safer for all who use them.
The speaker will first present 2 technologies which transform city infrastructures into smart infrastructure. Then, it will explain how cities are implementing them.
The first technology is the Vantage Fusion detection system. The solution is continuously monitoring, visualizing and optimizing mobility to ensure that roads are safe, travel is efficient, and communities thrive. It applies cloud computing, artificial intelligence, advanced sensors, advisory services, and services to achieve safe, efficient and sustainable mobility.
The second technology is making car moving autonomously within parking. The prerequisite for using the solution is an additional vehicle function (Central Motion Control), which converts the trajectory specified by the intelligent infrastructure into the control of the corresponding actuators.
These technologies to be implemented need smart city infrastructures demanding updates in sensing, connectivity, and communication capabilities.
Speaker :
Pierre-Emmanuel Maire
Director New Business Models at Continental Automotive in Toulouse, France
Pierre-Emmanuel was born in 1972 in the southeast of France. In 1995 he graduated in computer engineering from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Northern Germany.
During his 27 year career in the automotive industry, he has occupied various roles: software & hardware development, project & quality management, product platform & program management, business segment & sales lead. Pierre-Emmanuel has been working for Continental Automotive since November 1998 and has gathered experience with a broad variety of (non-) automotive products in the body, chassis & safety, powertrain, tires and rubber technology domains. He has enjoyed close relationships with nearly all car makers worldwide, and with many other (non-) automotive customers / partners.Currently he is focusing on developing new business models for Smart Infrastructure Systems.

Smart mobility is in Continental’s DNA with constantly improving and innovating solutions which help make roadways safer for all users.
The speaker will present 2 systems which transform city infrastructures into smart infrastructures:
› Intelligent Intersection
› Automated Valet Parking Type 2
The Intelligent Intersection System is a hybrid video and radar detection system which delivers unmatched detection, tracking and classification accuracy of vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, with unique visualization capabilities. It is ready for V2X communications to connected and automated vehicles. This system applies cloud computing, artificial intelligence, advanced sensors and services.
The Automated Valet Parking Type 2 System (AVP2) enables infrastructure-based maneuvering of vehicles based upon standard cameras. Using their data, Artificial Intelligence-based algorithms generate a driving trajectory which is transmitted to the vehicle through wireless communication. The vehicle motion controller converts the trajectory into its actuators.
Continental’s Smart Infrastructure Systems enablesafe, efficient and sustainable mobility.
