Citizens' inclusive and accessible urban mobility solutions
UMCASE
Following the workshops that were conducted in the UMCASE pilots of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain and Eindhoven, Netherlands, we managed to summarise the insights that were gathered there. While the general context of the pilots differed regarding use-case and target groups, we can still draw some overall links between them. This blogpost will provide some lessons learnt from the UMCASE method as well as recommendations for cities wishing to implement it.

The UMCASE project aims to shift the attention of policy-makers and mobility experts to those who often don’t have a voice, providing cities a method to improve their transport solutions and tailoring them to individual needs.
The project partners reached out to people with a low income in Eindhoven, Netherlands. This group encompasses people who may have difficulties accessing digital (mobility) services due to low income. On 17 November the EIT hosted a closed citizen engagement project workshop at Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The goal of the workshop was to define the key learnings and recommendations from the six citizen engagement projects co-funded by EIT Urban mobility. Additionally, it also intended to build a network of partners who are focused on the topic of citizen engagement to support future collaborations.
